The Golden Lions luck has run out against the Blue Bulls on Saturday when they went down

The Golden Lions almost made it four comebacks from four matches but came up short when they lost 31-26 on Saturday.

This was a massive effort from the Blue Bulls who had to play with 14 men for most of the game after Fred Eksteen was send off for a shoulder charge against the head.

The Blue Bulls led 18-12 at halftime after making a great start to the match with Libbok playing one of his best matches of the season.

He send Hendricks over after he broke the Lions defence for the first try of the match.

Libbok boot also proof to be the deciding factor with the Lions scoring four tries to the Blue Bulls three in the match.

It was a must win for the Blue Bulls as they have struggled so far in the Currie Cup.

It was a fast and exciting game throughout with both teams trying to spread the ball out wide to find gabs in the defence.

The Log is congested in with only two rounds still to go…

Next week sees the Lions hosting the Sharks at home and the Blue Bulls have a bye.
