About Ruggaworld

Ruggaworld started in December 2005

We were just a few friends who shared a passion for rugby.

South African rugby.

And we wanted to talk about it.

We didn’t want interruptions from people who didn’t know what they were talking about.

We grew from there.

Attracting people who share our passion.

South African supporters of rugby, who care about the game. Who want to share their views and debate them.

We’ve been recognised by SA Rugby.

But maintain a strongly independent standpoint.

We believe we are the independent voice of rugby in South Africa.

Who are our people?

David Spohr (aka DavidS) is our Jozi based man with the acid tongue. He has a love hate relationship with rugby in South Africa. He has three girls and a wife. All four of whom he loves more than rugby. He lives in the East Rand, so he’s not only got the yapper.

Morne Nortier (aka Pissant) is our resident rugby brain. Residing in Cape Town, he lives in sin with Heksie and their baby.

Deon (aka Donner) is our dry witted Stormers / WP / Reds member. He has a similar relationship with Cape rugby as what DavidS does with the Lions. He lives in Brisbane, is married with four lovely kids.

Boertjie has a special interest in the history of Bok rugby. He resides in Cape Town and is a retired journalist and TV producer.
