I just decided that I love the silly season in South African rugby with all the rumours coming out while the media are waiting to report on something that are actually proper rugby news.
It keeps our days entertained while we wait for Varsity Cup and Super Rugby to kick off in February.
The newest rumour has it that French big man Mathieu Bastareaud are looking at signing with the Sharks for the 2020 season.
The frenchmen has a clause in his contract that allows him to play a short stint outside Europe according to Sport24
He is a massive man weighing more than 120kg making him one of the biggest midfield players in world rugby.
If these rumours are true Bastareaud will either go to Japan or link up with the Sharks.
The Sharks have signed a few frenchmen over the years for such short contracts in Thierry Lacroix and Olivier Roumat (both 1995-1996), Frederic Michalak (2008 and 2012) and Clement Poitrenaud (2017).
