There has been a huge outcry on social media because Bulls coach Pote Human has recall Handre Pollard to join the team again in New Zealand for their last tour match this weekend against the Highlanders.

Now in a World Cup year fans wants to see the star players fit and ready to go to the Japan and with so many already injured the questions are why Bulls are putting franchise rugby above Springbok rugby.

At this stage it looks that Pollard will be the number one flyhalf going into the Rugby Championship and World Cup, so this makes it tricky.

The Bulls are gunning for a playoff spot and need to win both the last two games to stand a chance so one can understand Human reasoning for his team.

They play the Highlanders this week and face the Lions at home next week.

Pollard was send home after the first tour game when he helped the Bulls win against the Rebels.

He flew home with an injury and it was suggested that he would stay in Pretoria and only play in the Lions match.

One just can not understand why South Africa franchises never have national interest at heart. This would not have happened in New Zealand, Ireland or England.

What is even worst for me is what message are being send to Libbok now. After having a good enough game last week, you basically telling your number 10 for next year you not good enough for this important game.

Yes Pollard is leaving Blue Bulls and Bulls rugby after this Super Rugby season and Libbok will be the number 10 in Pretoria unless they go out shopping.

This is just bad player management from the Bulls and poor coaching from Pote Human in my mind.

  1. Surprise!
    Just kidding obviously.
The former Pote Human telegraphed this move months ago when he sold his soul to become ZeeBulls frontman & now…Pote Demon.
Sacraficing springbok WC chances on the altar of selfishness.
    Thanks Pote Demon.
