Bulls sign Jano

The Blue Bulls Company Pty (Ltd) is pleased to announce that Jano Vermaak has signed a contract to play for the Vodacom Bulls in 2012.

Vermaak, who is currently playing at the Golden Lions, has signed a contract that will keep him at Loftus Versfeld till October 2013.

The 26 year old Vermaak, who played for the Golden Lions and Lions since signing on as a junior in 2004, said that he needed fresh challenges.

“I felt it was time to make a change. I was with the Lions for a long time and when this offer came along, I knew it the right one at the right time for the right team,” the scrumhalf said.

Responding to the news, the CEO of the BBC, Barend van Graan, said that Vermaak’s signature is another exciting step in their efforts to keep the Vodacom Bulls on top of the Super Rugby pile.

“Jano is world class and will fit in nicely with our Bulls culture as he lives in Pretoria already. We are looking forward to the contributions he will make,” Van Graan said of the former SA Schools, SA Sevens and SA age groups player.

  1. Brilliant signing… now have the two brightest 9’s in RSA for 2012… I was wondering what they had up their sleeve… and Dustin Jinka surely wasn’t it from what little I have seen…

  2. Weird the most successful union the past 10 years is the most successful sighning union as well. What happen to all the Affies and Waterkloof players, is my only question.

Looks like the one’s who spend their money the best is the one’s who benefit the best.

Again…..the high respect I have for Heineke and his team comes through.

  3. Bulls need to start signing some young P3’s and a bit more oomph… Stegman and DWP need the grunt for their balance… not sure how Wepener’s playing but another S15 standard hooker would help them out too…

  4. Wonder if it’s the Lions Admin (more than likely)… or Mitchell doing a ‘Force and Giteau’ again…

Who cares what you lot think. Mitch is the caoch and can do what he wants. If Jano gave assurance he will only talk after the CC season then he breached the trust relationship.

But thanks for your service over the years Jano, you will be sorely missed from the squad. We will wait for your return in two years time.

Besides if he wants to fuck off it gives the coaching team time then to start with a new #9. I think Michael Bondesio will fit in nicely in there. Welcome to the big league Michael.

  6. Seeing that the brightest South African #9 now resides in Australia and plays for the team in baby blue…..i suppose it was the best they could do.
Was that a haiku? If so I will title it “Super P”
