Griquas to push ahead with court case

Griquas have confirmed they are waiting for a court date in order to challenge SARU’s decision over the format of this year’s Currie Cup. The basis of their argument is that, whilst other unions made full use of all their players, Griquas had to get by without 13 of their contracted players.

Spears agree to participate in CC

Following a Southern Spears Board meeting on Thursday, the three shareholder unions of Border, Eastern Province and South Western Districts, handed over a signed mandate to the CEO of SA Rugby, Johan Prinsloo agreeing to the Spears participation in the 2006 ABSA Currie Cup.
