Cheika call upon experience Ashley Cooper for EOY tour


Micheal Cheika has recall utility back Adam Ashley Cooper to the squad that will tour the UK this November.

Ashley Cooper is a veteran of 116 test matches and will join the squad on Monday with Jordan Petaia and Rob Valetini.

Cheika is looking for experience as he explain to the media on Ashely Cooper inclusion.

His experience is important and also just his versatility, his ability to cover a few positions,” Cheika told Rugby Australia’s official website.

“(Ashley-Cooper) will train with us, we’ll see where he’s at.

“He’s come on the tour with us to be available for selection, he’s not coming for a holiday.”

  1. Cheika is falling in the same trap than Hak Hak before the last WC – going for the “experienced” geriatrics. On a good day the old ballies (like Genia, Cooper, Beale) can do it for you – but they will never be good enough to last a tournament. And you will leave a shit pool of talent for your successor.
