Crusaders snatch win against Reds

Call the Aussie police as the Crusaders came and stole the match against the Reds on Saturday when the slotted over a last minute penalty to win the game 22-20.

The Reds had all the ball first up and forced the first penalty of the match to get in Crusaders half and made the most of it with a great passage of attack.

They were unbale to convert it into a try but did get away with three points to take an early lead of 3-0 after 5 min.

Crusaders did get a chance to level it with a penalty but could not knock the kick over.

The Crusaders had an early setback with All Black Dagg going off with what looked like a knee injury after 10 min.

Kerevi had the first try of the match when he stormed over close to the line to give the Reds a 10-0 lead after 12 min.

Crusaders did start having more ball on attack but were unable to get pass the Reds defense.

The Reds had another great break from Kerevi who send over Nabuli for the Reds second try and a lead of 17-0 over the Crusaders after 25 min.

The Crusaders hit back with a try after some nifty skills from Mitchell Drummond to put their first points on the board for the match. The Reds was leading 17-7 after 28 min.

The Crusaders got better momentum at the end of the half but still could not get the passes to stick.

The two teams went into the break with the Reds leading 20-7 over the Crusaders.

The second half started with the Crusaders with some ball in hand but plenty of handling errors and some great defense from Reds.

Both teams wanted to run the ball and give it some air which speed up the game somewhat. The handling on both sides have been poor stopping most of the attacking opportunities.

Finally, midway through the half the Crusaders hold on to the ball and scored their second try to make the scores 20-12 after 63 min.

The Crusaders put some extra pressure on their shoulders to get a yellow card for what the referees and TMO saw as a punch that touches the nose.

The Crusaders sprang to action and with continuous attack on Reds line they got there try and made it a one point game with 4 min to go.

That made it a one point game and with 2 minutes to go the Reds starting keeping the ball with forwards and conceded a penalty for diving on the ball in the ruck.

This gave the Crusaders a penalty and they took it to steal yet another match winning the game 22-20.
