The Sharks scored a late try to seal a must win against Free State in what was a great game of rugby between the two neighbours.

The Sharks had to work hard for the win and the game was always in the balance as the teams were on 20-all for the last quarter of the match. It was the Sharks that had the better start to the game but the Cheetahs came back at them and had a good second half.

At the end the Sharks were just a bit more hungrier and took a win that keep them in the hunt for a playoff spot.

The Golden Lions comeback luck ran out on Saturday when the Blue Bulls came to Emirates Airline Park and beat them 31-26 in what was a great Currie Cup match.

There was not much separating the two teams throughout the match and the Blue Bulls had to content with a red card in the first half as well. The Golden Lions almost got away with another fight back but just could not get pass some desperate Blue Bulls defence in the dying minutes of the match.

This win gave the Blue Bulls a slight chance to still make a run for the playoffs but they will need so help from other teams now.

Golden Lions: Tries: Penalty try, Shaun Reynolds, Pieter Jansen, Stean Pienaar Conversions: Reynolds (2)

Blue Bulls: Tries: Cornal Hendricks, Dayan van der Westhuizen, Manie Libbok Conversions: Libbok (2) Penalties: Libbok (4)
