Sias Ebersohn will start at number ten for the Free Sate Cheetahs when they face the Golden Lions in their Currie Cup clash in Bloemfontein on Saturday.
Cheetahs head coach Franco Smith revealed that the former Western Force pivot will form part of new half-back combination with scrum-half Zee Mkhabela also starting.
The duo replaces former Sharks fly-half Fred Zeilinga and Shaun Venter respectively.
Staying with the backline, Ryno Benjamin takes a spot in the bench and is replaced by Tertius Kruger at inside centre.
Meanwhile, Niell Jordaan moves to seven while Gerhard Olivier starts at number eight. A knee injury has forced lock Armand Koster out of the matchday 22 altogether. He is replaced by Freddy Ngoza.
The Cheetahs will be looking to build on their impressive 44-24 win against Griquas last week.
