Eddie Jones has came out and confirmed that he will be in charge of English rugby team until at least 2021.

There are also talks that he may even be in charge till the 2023 World Cup in France.

There are a break clause in Jones contract if England fail to reach the semi-finals in Japan but it seems now that there will be a review if England fail their goal with Jones to stay on.

We also learned this week that the RFU extended John Mitchell contract till 2021 on the request of Jones.

The idea was that Jones replacement would have been identified this year so that they had a new head coach in place at the end of 2019-20 season.

That idea was ripped up by Sweeney who said to name a new coach before the World Cup would be disruptive.

As of now we will have to wait and see what the new succession plan if for England after the World Cup in Japan.

The other question is, what will the backlash be if England do not make the semi finals and will that be enough? Is it not to win the World Cup?
