    Recap

The Cell C Sharks was again on the receiving end on Saturday on more ways than one when the Hurricanes beat them 30-17.

The fight the Sharks shown after the hooter was about the best commitment they showed all match.

It was really an ugly game from start to finish and one feel that referee Nic Berry could have stamp his authority down earlier which would have stop the niggle that went on throughout the match.

The constant questioning of TJ Perenara on the referee calls did also not help and it is something he needs to sort out as a official going forward and specially before the World Cup.

The Hurricanes got off to a flyer with a penalty and the first try that was made by a Barrett and ended with a Barrett.

It was the perfect pass from Beauden Barrett to his brother Jordie to get over for the first try of the match.

The Sharks looked good on attack and created enough opportunities but handling errors crept into their game again.

They did get a penalty after a break from Am took them into the Hurricanes twenty two.

Bosch had no problem kicking it over and put the Sharks on the board.

This was counter by Barrett putting a penalty off his own over to extend the lead to 13-3.

Both teams tried to get pass some good defence and the frustration started to boil over and some niggle came into the game.

The Hurricanes got another try just before the break when the TMO judge that ball touch the line when Ngani Laumape powered pass the Sharks defence.

This gave the visitors a 20-3 lead with the Sharks in real trouble but the Sharks came good just before the end of the half when the Du Preez twice combined in the buildup with Am drawing the defence before giving Fassi the ball to go over for their first try of the match.

This reduce the Hurricanes lead to 20-10 at the break.

The Sharks was able to strike first in the second half with another good buildup to send Juan Schoeman over which made it a three point game.

The Sharks also started to dominate in the scrums and Mapimpi almost got over for another but was tackled out on the corner flag.

The Hurricanes competed well on the ground throughout the match and got a penalty which Barrett kicked over to extend their lead to 23-17 with 20 minutes still to play.

The Hurricanes then broke away from their own twenty two to work their way all the way to the Sharks red zone and scored in the corner.

This gave them a 13 point lead with five minutes to go.

The Sharks tried all they can but the Hurricanes defence was up to everything they threw at them and took a great away win.
