Lions v Reds (Result)

Skosan made it four tries for the Lions as they beat the Reds on Saturday with 44-14 to keep their winnings ways at home.

The Reds started well moving into the lions twenty-two early on but Lions defense hold them out and gave them a change to attack themselves.

The Lions had to defend for the better part of the first ten minutes.

The Lions started to control the ball more and played in the right side of the field and with a great break from Rohan he sends Skosan over for their first try.

Although the score did not change much the Lions dominated in most of the aspects. Jantjies did slotted over a penalty to take their lead to 10-0 after 31 min

The Lions kept the pressure on the Reds and with an attacking lineout, Jaco Kriel was at the end of a perfect drive to score the Lions second try of the match.

The teams went into the break with the Lions leading 15-0.

Everything went south for the Reds after halftime with the Lions dominating play.

First, they got a yellow card for deliberate offence near the try line and then Cooper was send off with a red card for a high shot at Rohan while scoring his try.

The Lions got their lead to 20-0 by that time and were lucky not to lose another player for a tip tackle on Jantjies.

It took not long to use the extra men they had as the Lions scored another try quickly after and took the scoreboard to 25-0 after 50 min.

The rest of the half was dominated by the Lions and they were able to score some great tries with the Reds able to get two tries on the board.

At the end the Lions was just too good for a Reds side who was not good enough.

  1. In spite of the red card the Lions were way in control of this.

Even when the red was awarded they were about to go 22-0 up.

This was HUGE. The Reds are on the up in Australia and with all the Aussie teams now having received klaps from SA sides save the Rebels it is a sure sign SR in Australia is in deep kak… more so than our political suicide rugby administration.

The legacy of John O’ Neill is killing ARU’s ability to be competitive.

  2. @DavidS: Yet embarrassing that 14 men Red team ran riot last 10 minutes. Aussies are kak full stop – even Kings will beat some of these into an orgasm.

  3. Quade is going to struggle a lot with the new head law. He has always tackled exactly like he did, that resulted in a red card. His defence has seen him moved to the wing in Wallaby colours, but this year it’s going to cause red cards. He has confidence issues around tackle time, which always sees him go in high.
