    Recap

The All Blacks took their opportunities when it matter and got the vital win over the Springboks on Saturday.

They scored two quick tries to build a nice lead in the first half and at the end beat the Springboks 23-13.

It was made up as the biggest clash in the opening weekend of World Cup and this is what Rassie had to say

Off-course no All Black game goes without the Haka

The Springboks got the first penalty in All Blacks half and Pollard kicked his first penalty to give the Springboks the lead.

The Springboks took full advantage of their momentum early on keeping the All Blacks pinned in their twenty two but could not get more points.

It was disappointing with so much pressure on the All Blacks and you came away with nothing.

A mistake gave the All Blacks a penalty straight in front and points on the board

The All Blacks then just stepped up another gear and scored two quick tries to pull away from the Springboks 17-3.

It was first George Bridge and then Scott Barrett that got over for the two tries.

The Springboks had some more changes but they just made some poor decisions on attack with Faf not on par. His passing game was poor, he passing game slow and made some poor decisions on attack.

At the break the All Blacks had a great lead of 17-3.

It was some magic from Kolbe that sparked the Springbok alive, putting the pressure on the Springboks and Du Toit the man finding a huge gab to get their first try.

With Pollard conversion the Springboks reduced the lead to 17-10.

The Springboks started to show more on attack which was beautiful to see and only desperate defence kept them out.

Pollard reduced the lead again with a drop goal.

The All Blacks pulled 3 back a penalty as they led the Springboks 20-13 after 66 minutes.

The All Blacks got another penalty to extend the lead to 23-13 and they were able to keep that score till the end.

The rucks and scrums was a mess but at the end the two quick tries in the first half made all the difference.

        1. Springboks need to do a bit more on attack, the box kicking not working anymore, needs some points now as well #NZLvRSA

        2. Poor end to the half from the Springboks, All Blacks showing their class on attack. All Blacks with a great lead at the break #NZLvRSA

        3. Injuries I reckon – if we had 15 PSDTs we’d win.
Faf hopeless. Ball way too slow.
Better start jantjies if boks want any chance here
Think we might skip up and not make it out of pool

Too cautious – need to start playing rugby.
Frans Steyn needs to come in.
