    Six Nations ’19: ITA v WAL (Result)




    Wales kept their winning ways as they had to work hard for their win against Italy on Saturday.

    It was by no means easy but they got two wins from two beating the Italians 26-15 in Rome.

    Wales had two hard weeks on the road but came away with two wins which set them nicely up for the home leg of their campaign.

    Both sides score two tries in the test but the boot fro Dan Biggar proof to be the difference at the end.

    Wales are now on a 11 test winning streak, which is a record for them in the professional era.

    On the other side of the field they left Italy with their 19th lost in a row in Six Nations.

    Wales started the test well and took the lead 3-0. Italy continue to infringe and Wales added two more penalties to take the lead to 9-0.

    Italy kept on giving away kickable penalties and Wales went into a 12-0 lead.

    Italy kept their defensive structures and kept Wales out although Wales dominated almost every aspect of the test.

    Italy kicked for a lineout and the gamble paid off with Braam Steyn that went over for the host.

    That left Italy at 12-7 behind at the break

    Italy made the better start to the second half and got a penalty over to reduce the lead to 12-10.

    Wales got over for a try when Williams burst through a tackle and pass to Adams who got over the Italians line.

    Wales sealed the win in the 70th minute of the test when Owen Watkin dived onto an inch-perfect chip kick from Gareth Anscombe behind the home side’s try-line.

    Italy was rewarded with a late try when Padavani went over after good work by Allan in the build-up.

    Although they had to work hard for it Wales was deserved winners at the end.
