It was more a kicking festival than anything else but the Springboks beat the Pumas 24-18 at the end.
Plenty of opportunities in the first half which they could not convert. Two brilliant tries form Nkosi and the boot of Jantjies pulled it through at the end.
The game started with the Springboks doing all the play inside the Argentinians twenty two.
We saw some negative play from Argentina as they tried to slow down the Springboks ball and disrupt the momentum they were building up.
The Springboks were unable to get over the line after camping in their twenty two for some time. The Argentina defence was up to the drive from the lineouts of the Springboks.
The first points came from Jantjies that kicked a penalty over for a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes.
Argentina had a good period attacking inside the Boks half but defensively the Springboks were up to it. A penalty against Smith let the visitors draw level 3-3 after 27 minutes.
With the hooter sounding the Springboks tried to run the ball but a wayward pass found the hands of Pagadizaval who ran through to score their first try and the lead of 10-8 going into the break.
The second half could also not going until Nkosi came and power run over the Argentina defence for his second try of the test.
Argentina pulled three points back with a penalty to reduce the lead to 15-13.
Jantjies extended the lead again with a penalty with 20 minutes to go.
A penalty to Argentina on the five meter line gave them a lineout which they took full advantage off to send Matera over for his try and level the scores at 18-all.
There was some controversy with the Pumas that scored a try but after TMO review it was founded that there was obstruction. This gave Jantjies another shot at points to take the lead to 24-18.
It was not pretty and in some way the Springboks can be lucky to escape with the win but did enough to take the win.
