The Bulls got their third straight win over South African sides on Saturday when they beat the Sharks at Loftus 37-14.
It will be again a case of the Sharks not able to hang on to the ball on attack and giving too much penalties away which Pollard punished them dearly.
The game started at a frantic speed form both sides trying to get control and it was the Bulls that opened the scoring with two penalties from Pollard to give the Bulls and early lead.
The Bulls were having the better on attack and were good on defence which also led to their first try by Jesse Kriel.
This gave the Bulls a 13-0 lead with the Sharks to start fighting back to get into the game.
The Bulls seemed to have taken the good scrums form last week against the Lions to this game.
A penalty from the scrum was easy points for Pollard to extend their lead to 16-0
The Sharks had their chances but again their handling let them down.
The Bulls kept the scoreboard ticking away with another penalty from Pollard to make the halftime score 19-0.
The Sharks had a great start to the second half and got on the scoreboard with a great try by Ward. This looked like it gave the Sharks a bit of momentum in the game.
They made a lot of play with ball in hand but keep on giving away penalties which Pollard was just to happy to kick over for three points.
As it has been throughout the match the Bulls got points back straight after the Sharks scored with Specman at the end of great teamwork.
This gave the Bulls a 27-7 lead and all to do for the Sharks. The Sharks got the short end of the referee’s decisions as well when it came to the scrum penalties which did not help them at all.
The Sharks got another try when Daniel du Preez powered over. That made the score 27-14.
The game became a bit scrappy with no team really getting much ascendency over the other.
With minutes running out the man of the match Handre Pollard slotted a drop goal over to extend his side lead to 30-7.
By that time it was all over and not that it matter much, but the Bulls scored a final try on the stroke of 80 minutes which made this another great win over a South African franchise.
The Sharks will be frustrated with all the penalties they gave away but even more so in their general play and handling.
They will have to fix this quickly or this can became a dreadful season very fast for them.
