Israel Folau is yet to decide whether he will play for the Waratahs and Australia beyond the 2018 season.
The fullback’s contract with Rugby Australia expires at the end of the current calendar year.
When asked if there is a contract renewal on the cards ahead of the 2019 World Cup, Folau was non-committal, saying he would not rush into a decision on his playing future.
‘Look, the World Cup is something I enjoyed last time around. But, in saying that, there’s plenty of options on the line and, when that time comes, I’ll make a decision when I’m ready,’ Folau told the Sydney Morning Herald.
‘There’s no rush. I want to make sure everything is set in position and [when] I feel comfortable and [then] I’ll come out and make that announcement.’
Folau did not rule out that some of the options available to him are to return to the NRL or AFL.
‘My management [team] are always doing a lot of work in the background and I haven’t really thought about it too much. My job is obviously solely here and what I can do with the team now,’ he explained.
