Alexandre Dumoulin replaces the injured Wesley Fofana as France kick off their World Cup campaign against Italy at Twickenham.
The Racing 92 centre gets the nod for Saturday’s Pool D clash, with Fofana having to pull out because of a thigh strain he picked up against Scotland a fortnight ago.
Philippe Saint-André has made just two changes from the team that beat the Scots, with Yoann Maestri back in the second row in place of Alexandre Flanquart, who drops to the bench.
Benjamin Kayser and Gaël Fickou are also included in the matchday squad, having missed the final warm-up game, and it is effectively a full-strength side for les Bleus.
France have a quick turnaround to their second game, with a clash against Romania coming up on Wednesday.
