Jaguares XV and Griffons secure place in First Devision Final


The Jaguares XV have ended on top of the Currie Cup First Division to secure a final against the Down Touch Griffons in Potchefstroom.

It has been a great debut season for the Jaguares XV as they done 8 wins from 8 matches in the competition sponsored by DirectAxis Financial Services.

Jaguares XV – Tries: Leonel Oviedo, Lucio Sordoni, Domingo Miotti, Nicolas Solveyra Von Glasberg Chaet. Conversions: Domingo Miotti (4). Penalty goals: Domingo Miotti (3).

Valke – Tries: Martin Sithole, Anrich Richter, Rodney Damons, Coert Cronje. Conversions: Richter (3). Penalty goal: Richter.

They beat the Valke 37-29 this past weekend while the Griffons beat the EP Elephants 62-31 in Welkom.

For the Jaguares we saw a classy performance from flyhalf Domingo Miott who scored a try, four conversions and three penalties to add 18 points to his teams score.

In Welkom a hat-trick by Allistair Mumba and two tries from Basson add to an emphatic win for the home side over the EP Elephants.

With a lead 0f 41-10 the match was done and dusted by the time the teams went into the break.

The second half was a bit more competitive but at the end the class of the Griffons first half was too much to handle for the Elephants.
