Eddie Jones have shown his hand early as he announced his World Cup squad for Japan 2019.
In the 31-man squad Ruaridh McConnochie may have been seen as a surprise selection as the only uncapped player.
Ruaridh McConnochie made the transition from Sevens to XV’s and it seemed to have paid of for him.
Following there first caps against Wales on Sunday, Jones also included Lewis Ludlam, Jack Singleton and Willi Heinz.
A huge surprise was not seeing the name of Ben Te’s with Jones going with Piers Francis. Ewels also failed to made the final squad despite starting against Wales over the weekend.
There was also no Brad Shields who made the move from New Zealand to England as he is still recovering from a foot injury.
Jones also went with Dan Coles at tighthead over Harry Williams. Cole will go to his third World Cup as will Courtney Lawes and Ben Youngs.
Jones squad will have 1000 caps between them with 17 players having played in a World Cup before.
For captain, Jones went with Owen Farrell who will lead his team form the number 10 jumper.
