We saw on Saturday another classic game of rugby which just show that South African is on the up. The Lions edge the Sharks at the end in a thriller to in the match 34-29.

We expected a fast and frantic game and we got that in the first half with the Sharks dominating most of that half with there hard big pack.

They dominating the contact and using their power to overpower the Lions at the breakdown. They scored a brillint try with Oostuizen going over with a strong run.

The Lions struggled to get going and find the space in the Sharks defense which was brilliant in that first half. Their almost seemed a bit surprise with the power of the Sharks game.

The Lions sgot two penalties over in the first half but it was all Sharks with 39 minutes gone. Bosch did not missed with the boot much and he also slotted a drop goal over.

Just before the break the Sharks got a yellow card for a second dangerous tackle and the Lions opted to go for the lineout.

They got the drive going and Marx got over as the hooter sounded for halftime giving the Sharks only a 16-13 lead at the break.

The second half lived up to even more than what we got in the first as the Lions came back at the Sharks making the game faster and scoring some great tries  in the process. No more important than the 78 min try Kriel scored to give them the lead.

The teams were logged at even stevens for most part of the match and trading penalties for the last ten minutes till the brrilliant break from Kwagga Smith that send Kriel down the line to score the winning try.

The Sharks did never gave up in the match and with the boot from the tlented Bosch kept in the match and the Lions honest throughout the match.

Both teams where brilliant in defense and they did not let up throughout the 80 minutes and both teams wanted to run the ball and score tries.

At the end the Lions hold on and got the win and keeping the winning record at home.

  1. Wow, Lions used a get out of jail free card there. Was good game to watch. Forwards from both sides were ferocious and Bosch is a talent. Given time he could become brilliant.
