The Force put a great defensive effort together but it was not enough to stop the Lions to get a bonus point win on Saturday when they beat them 24-15.
A match that most believe the Lions should have won and won with a bonus points was not as easy in that first half as expected.
It was the Lions with the first try through Mapoe to take the lead of 7-0 after dominating the opening exchanges in the match.
The Force showed that they are there to play and play to win with intense pressure being put on the Lions and got the first two penalties over to reduce the lead to 7-6 halfway through the half.
The Force defence was great throughout the first half but with great hands the Lions got over for their second try just before the end of the half to take the lead to 14-6.
It was Skosan that was on the end of it all to go over in the corner.
The Force did manage another penalty to make the halftime score 14-9.
The Lions struggled to take control of the match and both teams could only manage a penalty a piece in the first 17 min of the second half.
This made the lead for the Lions only 17-12.
Most of the second half was frustrating for the Lions as the Force defence was brilliant at times and made a few turnovers as well. With five minutes to play the lead was only 17-15.
The Lions did manage to get that bonus point try after the hooter to win the match 24-15. This was not the best Lions game but effective.
