Coming off a loss against the Crusaders the Hurricanes must pick themselves up to face a Brumbies side who had a massive win over the Chiefs last week at home.
They do have the good news that Beauden Barrett is back in the starting lineup. He will partner with All Black TJ Perenara for this match.
This will be Beauden first match of the season and the hope is that he will add some direction to the Hurricanes backline.
Ardie Savea is also back at number eight for the Hurricanes.
With runners like Ben Lam you need to have players like Barrett to make sure you utilise them.
With the one Barrett coming back in the other Barret (Jordie ) is being rested. His place will be taken by Chase Tiatia at fullback.
The Brumbies made four changes to their side with the biggest news coming out of the camp, David Pocock is back.
Pete Samu will also make his run on debut against the Hurricanes.
Scott Sio also comes in for James Slipper at loosehead prop.
Sio will form a familiar looking front row with fellow internationals Folau Fainga’a and Allan Alaalato, who start at Hooker and Tighthead prop respectively.
The Hurricanes have lost six of their last seven regular season matches against the Brumbies but they have a record of 22 wins out of 23 at home.
In recent times the Brumbies have not registered back to back wins against New Zealand opposition since 2014 but they are a more complete package this year it seems.
