Samoa had a poor start to the match but came good enough in the second half to get a bonus point win over the Russians.
They beat them 34-9
It was not pretty as both teams tried to get a hold on the game in that first half. Samoa looked good with ball in hand but some ordinary decision making at times.
They were first to cross the line when they send Alapati Leiua over after good hands in the backline. The conversion was not over and the lead was only 5-0.
Russia got there first points with a penalty straight after which made the lead only 5-3.
About halfway through the half Samoa lost the plot with the first of two yellow cards for head high hits.
Ummm ouch ‼️

They were lucky both times to not received a red card.
Russia slotted another penalty which gave them a 6-5 lead. This they were able to hold till the break.
Samoa came out in the second half playing much better with ball in hand and it took not long for them to get that second try Afaesetiti Amosa crashing over.
Russia again came back with a drop goal but Samoa answered with two tries from Ed Fidow after Kirill Gotovtsev was send off with a yellow card for a high shot.
This let the Samoans pull away and build a nice lead with the bonus point already in the bag.
Samoa got their fifth try with 15 minutes to go by Rey Lee-Lo.
The Russians tried all they can but just could not get through some desperate Samoan defence.
