It was a game that never stopped giving and only a TMO call prevented the Crusaders form winning this. At the end the Stormers got a penalty in the dying second to draw 19-all.

It as a fast start from the Crusaders trying to play inside the Stormers half.

The Stormers was up to the challenge and they found themselves in the Crusaders half with an lineout. Stander put the perfect pass to Kolisi who took the space and went over for the first try.

This gave the home side a 7-0 lead early on.

The Stormers had the better of the territory but it was vintage Crusaders defence on their line.

With all the pressure coming from the home side penalties started to heap up Stander extended the lead to 10-0.

The champions started to put the pressure on the Stormers and they got a few penalties to setup a lineout five meters out. It was an easy drive for them to get over for their first try.

The Crusaders again putting huge pressure on the home side got an attacking scrum from which Richie Mo’unga put a cross kick to David Havili who ran over.

This gave the Saders a 12-10 lead.

The Stormers had to defend all they had to keep the Crusaders from scoring another try before the break but hold on to go into the break 12-10 behind.

The Crusaders did not took long to get over the Stormers line when Richie Mo’unga shows his class again. This gave them a 19 point lead.

The Stormers got some time in the Crusaders half and forced a penalty which Stander kicked over to reduce the lead to 19-13.

The Stormers were able to keep the Crusaders in their own twenty two and again force a penalty which DU Plessis knocked over.

This made it a three point game with the champions leading 19-16.

The last five minutes produced some on the edges of your seat stuff with the Stormers lucky that the TMO came in to rule a brilliant try from Crusaders Reece as a forward pass.

The rule clearly state that if the ball goes back out of the hand the ball is not forward but TMO ruled otherwise.

This gave the Stormers a chance to get back into the Saders half and it was almost that Willemse scored but a penalty advantage gave the Stormers the chance to draw level with no time left.

It was one of the best games we saw from the Stormers all year and they will be proud of the effort.
