Match Report – Stormers their own worst enemy

It was a game that never really got going with the Jaguares at the end beating the Stormers 30-25.

A game with both side just making too many mistakes and giving away too many penalties for it to really get going.

The Jaguares put early pressure on the Stormers with their speed on attack and quickly found the space for their first try and the lead of 7-0.

The Jaguares kept the pressure on the Stormers and had most of the ball. They slotted a penalty to extend their lead to 10-0 after just 11 minutes.

The Stormers got into a period which they were able to keep ball in hand and worked their way to the Jaguares twenty two to force a penalty.

The boot of Jean-Luc Du Plessis was on the mark to give them their first points of the match.

The game became a bit scrappy with a lot of handling errors from both sides. Du Plessis had another shot at goal to reduce the lead to 10-6.

The Stormers started to get the control in the scrums and with another penalty from the set pieces Du Plessis made it a 1 point game.

The Jaguares got one more penalty over before the break to lead the Stormers 13-9 at halftime.

The Stormers were first to put points on the board with another penalty from Du Plessis to make it a 1 point game again.

With the Stormers on attack a loose pass from Senatla was intercepted and the Jaguares got back in the Stormers twenty two to setup a linout.

They went through the phase and got over in the corner to get their second try of the match and extend their lead to 20-12.

The Stormers had so much ball but was unable to actually move forward. The did received a penalty which Willemse kicked over to reduce the score again to 20-15.

Another penalty for the Stormers made the lead only 20-18 after 63 minutes.

It started to look like it will be the battle of the kickers with the Jaguares kicking over another penalty to extend the lead again.

The game then went away from the Stormers when JJ knocked down the ball deliberately which resulted in a yellow card for him and a penalty try for the home side.

This gave them a lead of 30-18.

Just as you thought the game was gone for the visitors they create a great try with Senatla going over to take the score to 30-25 for the Jaguares with minutes to go.

The Stormers had every opportunity to win the game but throw it away when they lost the final lineout on the Jaguares line.

That gave the win to the home side with 30-25.
