Unbelievable conditions at Newlands saw WP beat Free State 32-0 on Saturday.
It was a slip ‘n slide as the game was played in extreme wet conditions and no one expected that there would be many tries.
WP had different ideas as they dominated the game from the start with a great attitude in the wet.
There ability to keep ball in hand was impressive and they opened the score with two penalties.
The game first try came from sevens star Nel exploited a gap in the defence to dot down after some persistent Province pressure. Marais added the conversion as the home side took a 13-0 lead into the interval.
Province put early pressure on the Free State after the break and had a attacking scrum early on which gave the opportunity to Augustus to score a great try.
There were still two tries through Ntubeni and Schickerling to gave them a lead of 32-0 which they took to the end.
It was an impressive win from Province and some great show of their talent in the wet.
The dominance of the pack laid the foundation and they showed that they will be hard to beat this year.
