Elma Smit interview with Vermeulen on the Player of the year award.

Sunday Newspaper Rapport has reported that Rassie Erasmus has send and SOS to Duane Vermeulen to join the team ahead of the Wellington test against the All Blacks.

Vermeulen currently playing in Japan for Kubota Spears was a star player in the June internationals against England.

It seems Erasmus wants to stock up with Brink and Jean-Luc Du Preez out for the rest of the season.

The newspaper reports that Kubota coach Frans Ludeke is willing to release Vermeulen if he receives a formal request from SA Rugby.

With a bye this week the Springboks will want to hit back in two weeks against the Aussies in Brisbane before facing the All Blacks in Wellington.

  1. It`s Kolisi and Louw that need the boot not Whiteley. They need JLDP back too… Bok rugby is at its weakest when they do not have specialists in every position. Kolisi can take up a bench spot and Louw can go back to the Northern Hemisphere. Any of Kriel/Van Staden/Smit are way better than he is now he`s so slow.

Best they rotate those props too… Beast has one good game in every 5, Malherbe is too fat for test rugby around the paddock. The Blood-nut and Louw need to start. I`ve said this before… Mostert gives 100% every time but I reckon he`s too light for Test rugby… both locks were found wanting… in fact the entire T5 and the loose-forwards (bar Whiteley) simply nowhere.

The less said about that entire backline (bar De Klerk) the better… and what exactly is the point of having Willemse on the bench instead of many others if he simply warms it every week for show. It`s a 23man 85min game.
