The Sydney Morning Herald newspaper has broken a story that Rugby Australia will be under investigation for a possible match fixing of the Wallabies several years ago.

High-ranking sporting officials have serious doubts about the behaviour of at least three Wallabies players, all whom apparently still have considerable links to Australian rugby.

In the involve matches Australia was strongly favoured to win with attractive odds for the opposition side.

They stated that the Wallabies lost the match following numerous strange incidents, including dubious forward passes, easy tackles being missed, confounding knock-ons and easy midfield kicks going nowhere near their target.

Adding to that rugby officials has been aware for some time apparently with the close links between several players and a controversial horse racing identity.

It seems these players were friends with the SP bookmaker and they were seen with the SP bookie or racing identity.

One player who had financial issues appeared to be the ring-leader.

With several people deeply concerned about the loss, it prompted a top-secret investigation.

Ruck & Maul was told by RA sources that Wallaby teammates were also concerned with the behaviour of several members of this group following several “sordid” late night incidents.

A referee’s performance in another Wallaby lost is also being scrutinised.
