Argentina was just too good for the USA although the USA never gave up on Wednesday.

At the end Argentina scored a bonus point win of 47-17 in their last pool match in the World Cup.

USA came in the game wanting to challenge an Argentina side who is hurting. It will be the first time since 1995 that Argentina does not make the playoffs and they were looking like a team with no confidence.

There was changes from both side early on but not able to finish left the score 0-0 until the 20th minute when Nicolas Sanchez got over to give the Pumas the lead.

USA were there to play and were looking good with ball in hand but some white-line fever cost them from scoring early on from some great positions inside the Pumas twenty two.

Nicolas Sanchez was again in play when he did a little kick ahead which bounce right for Joaquin Tuculet to score their second try. This gave the Pumas a 14-0 lead after 26 minutes.

With the Pumas in full control in the match Joaquin Tuculet got his second try of the match pulling away from the USA.

The USA also got over for a try in the first half when AJ MacGinty put a little kick ahead for Blaine Scully to go over in the corner making the halftime score 19-5.

Two quick tries by Argentina Juan Cruz Mallia took the wind out of the USA sails in the second half as Argentina pull away with on the scoreboard in the second half.

USA had a good period inside the Argentinians twenty two but the defence of the Pumas was just too good for them to get over the line.

It was in fact the Pumas that got the next try when Jeronimo De La Fuente went over for his try to extend the lead to 40-5.

USA was finally awarded with a try from Paul Lasike for all the pressure they put on the Pumas line. This reduced the lead to 40-12 after 62 minutes.

Argentina backs were in great form in the second half and Gonzalo Bertranou was at the end of the next try to to take Argentina to 47-12.

The USA had one more try at the end when they got Blaine Scully over for his second try of the match and the last points in the game.
