The Golden Lions ended the perfect season with a great win over Western Province on Saturday with 32-24.
They were as unstoppable as throughout the season when they scored quick tries in the first half to pull away from Western Province and at the end it was too much too catch up for Province.
Both teams stated nervously and made a few errors on attack with both Boshoff and Du Preez miss penalties to poles but the Lions kept to their simple way of playing attacking rugby and build up a lead quickly over Province.
Tries were coming easy as it have been throughout the season to the Lions with excellent skills and handling from number 1 to 15.
Province had no answer to the constant attacking play from the Lions and it took a brilliant piece of strong running from Du Preez just before halftime that put the score to a more respectable score line.
Province seemed to be a nervous outfit and struggled to get over the Lions defense for most of the half and resorted to a kicking game which played in the Lions hands as there attacking play was just too good from Province.
The crowd was keeping the Lions going throughout the match and it was great to see so much support for both teams.
At times you would have wonder why Province kept kicking ball away on attack? They looked like they had no ideas to counter the Lions defense and was playing catch-up rugby for the whole game.
Province tried to come back but it was a little too late for the men from Cape Town.
