Rugby Championship – All Blacks move to the top of the log with another bonus point win against Aussies

As a South African we can understand what the Aussies are going through in re-building their side under new coach Dave Rennie.

One would be very naive to think that the Aussies side is a bad side even after loosing all three Bledisloe Cup test against the All Blacks.

Every year we see the same trend, the Aussie has to go and play their first two test matches of the year against the All Blacks and we get to play Argentina and with all due respect to Argentina it is not the same.

One has to feel for the Aussies to have to start your international season each year against the brilliance of the All Blacks.

This past weekend saw the All Blacks yet again show the world that they are still the one of the best teams in the world and it setup a tasty encounter with the Springboks in a few weeks time.

The Aussies seemed very so close to be getting better but then small mistakes cost them big time against a quality team like the All Blacks.

Even with a man down for 20 minutes the Aussies were unable to counter the pure brilliance of the New Zealanders and that should send worrying signs out to all the other teams.

The All Blacks scored six tries in this test match which gave them an 18-0 lead early on.

If one also take into account that they missed players like Sam Whitelock, Richie Mo’unga and Aaron Smith in this test, then you clearly understand that their is nothing work with the All Blacks depth.

To keep Australia scoreless for 50 minutes speaks volume of the quality of this All Black side but the host did come back with tries from Folau Fainga’a, Nic White and Tom Banks.

That never threaten the All Blacks in the game as they got a bonus point win to move to the top of the log after two rounds.

The Aussies giving away tries on platter through intercept did again not help there cause, but they do show that their is something to build on.

One do feel they lack a quality ten and for them to step up to the next level they will need to find the answer at ten and a quality kicker.

The test against the Springboks is building up to be a cracker with the Aussie on a full out attack and the Springboks, well the Springboks play their own game which many do not like.
