Not the way that the Lions wanted to end their tour before coming home but they were just beaten by a better team on the night when Ulster took a bonus point win, 26-10.

The home side started the match well and put the Lions under huge pressure which resulted in the first try of the match in the 3de minute when Timoney got over. That gave Ulster an early 5-0 lead. It took the Lions another 10 minutes before they could get on the board.

It came from a Lions inert 10 meter out with the Lions taking the ball through the phases and stretching the Ulster defence which saw Stean Pienaar going over. That gave the Lions a 7-5 lead halfway through the half.

Both teams hammered away and the home side took the lead again when Hume got over for their second try of the match. This time Doak kicked the conversion over for a 12-7 lead.

A penalty just before the end of the half by Viljoen made it a 12-10 game with the two teams going into the halftime break.

The home side controlled the match brilliantly in the second half and was rewarded with two more tries in the half by Rea and Timotea getting his second for the bonus point.

The Lions just could not get into the math in that second half and also could not score any points which gave the home side a 26-10 bonus point win.

Scorers:
