Auckland off to a flying start in Mitre 10 Cup


Auckland had no problem putting Otago away on Saturday in their first Mitre 10 Cup match at Forsyth Barr Stadium, beating them 38-6.

With six All Blacks and Super Rugby players in their team, the Blues were just too good for the host. They dominated every aspect of the game.

As if it could not gone worst for Otago, their game ended with Tomkinson being sendt off for a high shot on Kickey.

Thomkinson who has a reputation for these reckless play will most properly face a lengthy suspension.

Auckland had a 18-point lead at the break and with Ioane’s try after the restart, ended the game as a contest really.
At the end they ended with four tries and a penalty try which game them a bonus point win to start the season.
