The Bulls did a remarkable comeback against the Jaguares after being down 19-0 at one stage to win 43-34 at Loftus

The Jaguares started well as they outclass the Bulls in the early stages of the match. They dominated possession and kept the ball in hand to create space for their backs.

They quickly got past the poor defence of the Bulls to go up 5-0 with in minutes.

It took not long for them to again stretch the Bulls again to get their second try and got a 12-0 lead. The Bulls did have their changes but made some ordinary mistakes and gave the Jaguares ball on turnover.

The Jaguares got their third try after a turnover and again found the Bulls defence wanting.

That gave them a lead of 19-0 and all to do for the Bulls and they did just that. They manage to keep the ball in hand more and started a great comeback.

They got their first try to get on the board and quickly got the second to make the score 19-14 just before halftime.

Kriel manage an intercept to close the first half with their third try and the lead going into the break with 21-19.

The second half started well as the Jaguares started to look tired as Pollard extend the lead with a penalty to 24-19.

The Jaguares then found some of their game back with a great try yet again from a turnover and poor defence from the Bulls.

That gave them the lead of 26-24 but the Bulls came right back with a great break from Pollard. With the lead of 29-26 the Bulls looked like the team with the passion and drive to take the game.

They got another try to stretch the lead as they found holes in the Jaguares defence after putting phases together.

With the lead of 36-26 the Jaguares got a penalty from a dangerous tackle but opted to go for points and not for the line to reduce the score to 36-29.

As the Jaguares were getting points from penalties the Bulls were scoring the tries and they got another to again stretch the lead to 43-29.

The Jaguares had their opportunities but the rush defence from the Bulls caught them out.

The Jaguares did manage a last try but missed out on the bonus point when they missed the conversion.

  1. Saved the Lions’ back-sides… great to see them gelling for a change. Cabbo must be ecstatic his life-sized Mitchell models have new meaning this week.

  2. Stats make for dismal reading despite the win. A whopping 53 tackles missed which lead to 77 combined clean-breaks/defenders beaten by the Jaguares not to mention a handful of lost LO’s. Better teams are going to punish that particularly at test level. Oh to have a game where they are not playing catch-up at half-time.
