It is finals weekend this Saturday when the Vodacom Bulls host the Cell C Sharks in Pretoria.
This will be a massive clash with the two top sides in South Africa at the moment and as per norm the battle will begin with the packs.
Although the Sharks did well last week to counter Province maul from line outs, they did not fair well in the scrums. Thomas du Toit struggled against Vermaak and this week it is not going to get any easier for him and Ox.
Trevor Nyakane and Lizo Gqoboka are both Springboks as well and they have been very good this season for the Bulls.
This will be the key battles when Ox Nche squares off against Trevor Nyakane and Lizo Gqoboka will go against Thomas du Toit.
But the problems for the Sharks does not stop at the front row of the Bulls and the scrums, the fight for control of the ball will be as important and with a trio like Vermeulen, Louw, and Marco van Staden the Sharks will have their hands full for the full 80 minutes.
Vermeulen is playing some of his best rugby and van Staden has been lethal all season. This is surely where the battle lines will be drawn and decided.
The Sharks has stick with almost the same side as the one that beat Province at Newlands with the only change at nine with Jaden Hendrikse coming in for Nohamba who will move to the bench.
The Sharks last few visits to Loftus has not been good and they will still have the memories of that coming into the final, but it is eighty minutes that will decide who gets the trophy.
Jake White has gone with experience for this weeks final. There is only one change in the pack with Johan Grobbelaar coming in for Schalk Erasmus who will move to the bench.
The backline are unchanged from the side that beat the Lions last week with Morne Steyn to take control of the backs again at ten.
“We have secured a place in the final but we still have 80 minutes to play. There are no second chances in playoff rugby and our opponents are just as eager to lift this coveted trophy. Our job is to prevent this from happening and ensuring that the Carling Currie Cup returns to Loftus Versfeld,” said White.
The match will be live on SuperSport and kickoff is at 15:00 on Saturday.
