Challenge Cup QF Preview – Bath v London Irish


We are in the playoff phase of Europe Top competition and it all start with the Challenge Cup QF1 when Bath host London Irish.

Two English sides facing each other is always going to be a great match up at this level. Although they have met plenty of times in the Premiership, this will be the first time they meet each other in the European competition.

Bath fought back last week from a 21-7 deficit against Zebra to secure their spot in the quarter finals. London Irish beat Cardiff to secure their spot.

Bath has won 10 of their last 11 Challenge Cup matches against English opposition. London Irish have lost five of their previous six Challenge Cup matches against English clubs.

Bath made sic changes to their side from last weekend team. Cameron Redpath and Jonathan Joseph will start in the midfield with McConnochie back on the wing.

We also see captain Charlie Ewels, Josh Bayliss and Zach Mercer all back in the pack.

London Irish have mad two changes form their side that beat Cardiff last week. Facundo Gigena gets his first start for the club in place of the Will Goodrick-Clarke who is serving a suspension

We also see Terrence Hepetema coming in for Curtis Rona at centre.
