Surely the Cheetahs mind is all on the PRO14 starting next week and they would have loved to got a in over the Golden Lions.

Sergeal Petersen scored an 81st-minute try as the Free State Cheetahs snatched a 30-24 win over the Golden Lions

It was the Lions that scored first dominating from the kick-off and went into a 7 point lead but the Cheetahs came back immediately to level the score with just 5 minutes gone.

That gave the Cheetahs more confidance and they started to enjoy field posision as well putting the Lions under huge pressure.

They also dominated in the scrums but handling let themselves down.

The Cheetahs struggled but one could have understand that with so many changes to the starting lineup.

The Lions lost Fourie for 10 minutes after a dangerous tackle send him to the bin but the Cheetahs only manged to score 3 points while he was off.

The Cheetahs took a 13-7 lead at the break after yet another penalty just before halftime.

Both teams could not provided the spark and is was Dayimani who provided just that in the 47 minute.

Not long after that Booysen scored to give the Lions an eight point lead.

The Cheetahs came back with another penalty and the combination between Afrika and Specman to score another try.

The Lions got a penalty through Van der Walt but Petersen score in the last minute to give the Cheetahs the win.
