Dramatic win for Hawke’s Bay ending 38 year drought

A try after the hooter by Ash Dixon saw Hawks Bay secure a stunning 20-19 win over Canterbury their first in 38-years.

Hawks Bay have not been able to beat Canterbury since 1982. Their record has shown sixteen losses and two draws but that all changed on Saturday.

They were 10-0 up at the break but saw that lead disappear and were looking another defeat in the eyes when they were 19-10 behind after a Canterbury fightback.
Jonah Lowe try in 12 minutes before the end off the game brought them right back in out.
They still had everything to do when the siren went for the end of the game but an attacking lineout saw them drive over with Dixon at the end of of it.
5000 Supporters sounded like 50 000 and it went over board when Dixon went over.
