European Champions Cup – Sexton out of semi-final

Leicester captain Johnny Sexton has been ruled out of Saturdays semi-final against La Rochelle this weekend.

Sexton did not play in last weekend Rainbow Cup first round match against Munster. He came off the field with a head injury in the quarter-final clash against Exeter in the beginning of April.

In January Sexton also picked up a head injury in the Six Nations clash against Wales and did not play in the following match against France as well.

He did however lead his country against Italy, England and Scotland in the championship.

Ross Burne who replaced Sexton against Exeter in the quarter-final will most properly be named as Leinster starting flyhalf for this weekend semi-final.

Good news for Leinster fans is that Ryan and Ringrose are both fit and available for this weekend clash after they were out due to injuries.

There is however still some doubt over Doris, Gibson-Park and Harry Byrne for this weekend.

Leister will play La Rochelle on Sunday and the match will be live soon SuperSport at 15:55
