    A late try from Luke James was the difference on Friday when Sale Sharks beat Bristol to see them move up to second on the table.

    The lead changed w a few times during the match but the Sharks hold on to an important win at Ashton Gate.

    Bristol took the lead when Bryne scored the first try but it was the boot of MacGinty that gave Sale the lead at the break with 9-7.

    The Bears got the lead back in the second half though the boot of Lloyd. At that stage it was a one point game for Bristol leading with 13-12 before James got over for the Sharks.

    MacGinty got another penalty over to give Sanderson back-to back wins as Sale director of rugby.

    With the loss Bristol run of six successive wins was stopped.
