There was only two tries in the game with the kickers keeping the scoreboard ticking over the whole match, and at the end the Cheetahs was good enough to keep the lead and take the win 19-17 over the Bulls.
The Bulls again as last week made just too many errors and just did not play to their strengths.
The Cheetahs was full of running but also had a good enough defence to keep the Bulls out.
Both sides started the game with ball in hand and trying to make space with fast hands and some skills.
We saw the magic of Aplon feet but unfortunately he hurt himself and were taken off the field and was replaced by Gans. The Cheetahs had the better of the territory playing in the Bulls half of the field but the Bulls defence was on par.
With the Cheetahs mostly on attack early on the Bulls stood up well in defence. When they did get their hands on the ball they lost their opportunities with some poor handling like last week against the Griquas.
The Cheetahs also lost one of their most experience players in their captain Pienaar after he injured his knee in a tackle. The Cheetahs was awarded a penalty which Tian Schoeman kicked over to give them a 3-0 lead after 17 minutes.
With the Bulls in the Cheetahs half, they created momentum with their forwards to force a penalty which Steyn had no problem to even the scoreboard out at 3-all.
It was then the Cheetahs to show off their skills with some great hands and speed from the back to create space out wide for Specman to run in the first try of the match.
This took the Cheetahs in the lead with 10 points to 3. It took not long for the home side to extend the lead to 13-3 with the boot of Schoeman.
The Cheetahs hang on to that lead going into the break.
The Bulls came out firing in the second half and had a great opportunity to get over the line but again some schoolboy errors from the men in blue.
Bulls were first to score with a penalty from Steyn to reduce the lead to 13-6. The Cheetahs replied almost immediately with the boot of Schoeman to take the lead to 16-6.
Both sides depended on their kickers to kept the scoreboard ticking over with the Cheetahs with one penalty and teh Bulls with two to take the scoreboard to 19-12 after 71 minutes.
The Bulls came back nicely with a try with 2 minutes to play and could have even it up on the scoreboard but Chris Smith missed an easy conversion which left the Cheetahs leading with 2 points.
With the hooter sounding in the background the Bulls still had the ball in hand but a handling error ended their chance to steal another win.
At the end the Cheetahs was full value for the win forcing their game on the Bulls and taking all the chances that came their way.
Cheetahs: Try: Rosko Specman. Conversion: Tian Schoeman. Penalties: Schoeman (4).
Bulls: Try: Joe van Zyl. Penalties: Morne Steyn (3), Chris Smith.
