Damien McKenzie did it again for the Chiefs. Like last weekend McKenzie his boot was the difference when they beat the Hurricanes on Friday 26-24.
It was a great start for the Hurricanes who had Blackwell over for the opening try of the match and a great lead early on.
The home side got on the board with the boot of Mckenzie.
Halfway through the first half the Chiefs got their first try of the match when Pita Gus Sowakula got over. Barrett had the last say in the first half with another 45 meter penalty to level things at 10-all at the break.
The Chiefs quickly took the lead in the second half with a penalty from that man McKenzie again.
The Chiefs extended their lead with a try from Gatland next to the poles.
The Hurricanes got back at the home side immediately when Flanders got a break in the midfield and with some great handling from the visitors Proctor got over for the visitors.
This reduced the lead to only 20-17.
McKenzie then got another penalty over which took the lead again to six points with 20 minutes to go.
The Hurricanes was next to score when Asafo Aumua over. Barrett got the conversion over to give them the lead 24-23.
That set McKenzie up for a final penalty to win the match for the Chiefs 45 meters out.
