It was a great reply from the Stormers after the Bulls demolition last week at Loftus. The Stormers struggled to get going but Gelant was brilliant to spark a much better performance from the Stormers.
They outscored the Griquas with six tries to zero to get the win 39-6.
Both teams started the match kicking the ball to find some territory but it was the Stormers that showed their quick hands with ball in hand.
Gelant was instrumental in most of the Stormers attack early on and it was his break that saw van Rhyn going over in the corner for the visitors.
Griquas got onto the board with a penalty but Willemse quickly counter that with a penalty of his own to take the score to 8-3 for the Stormers.
It was the magic of Gelant in multiple phases that saw Fouche get over for the Stormers second try and a 15-3 lead going into halftime.
It was Griquas that got first points in the second half with a penalty but it was the Stormers that scored two quick tries through Davids and Du Plessis which saw them taking their lead to 27-6.
It was speed of hands and speed to burn from Davids out wide to send Augustus over for another try for the Stormers and a lead of 32-6 with 14 minutes to go in the match.
The Stormers really started to control about everything in the match and it was Willemse who got over next for the Stormers.
