    Recap

The Lions started their tour in Australia on Friday against the Waratahs who has not won a match yet this season.

This ended a bad run for the Tahs when they beat the Lions 29-17 in Parramatta.

They started the weekend with zero points on the bottom of the log, so to say that this win was important is an understatement.

They finally put hands to ball and scored some great tries to get that first win of the season.

The home side were first to get points on the board with a great try in the third minute of the match.

Gordon hold on to the ball just long enough to pass to Hooper who ran a great line who then offloaded to Bell to go in under the sticks. This gave them a 7-0 lead.

The Lions did not get into the game and also got Schoeman send off with a yellow card for starting a fight.

The Tahs took full advantage of the extra man and withing minutes they broke the Lions line to recycle the ball to get Swinton over for their second try of the match.

The Lions first points came from Jantjies who kicked over a penalty but the Waratahs were score points with tries and got their third one with great interplay to send Dempsey over eventually.

The Tahs also found one man in the bin for a late challenge with no arms on Jantjies.

With penalties mounting up against the home side the Lions found them with a attacking lineout close to the Tahs line. This saw a great drive from the pack and Schoeman going over for their first try of the match.

The Lions got better in the second half having more ball to play with but the scrabble defence of the Waratahs were good enough to keep the scores at 19-10.

The Tahs got their forth try when Ramm was at the end of another great play form the home side.

The Lions did not give up and got another try from yet another rolling maul to send Schoeman over for his second try of the match.

This reduced the scored to only 24-17.

The Waratahs sealed the match when Tetara Faulkner  scored another try which also gave them the bonus point.
