Recap
Reds | 19 | – | 3 | Rebels |
After two consecutive losses in the revamp SR AU, the Reds got back to winning ways on Saturday beating the Rebels 19-3 in Brisbane.
After a dismal performance against the Tahs last week the Reds fans will be feeling a little better with their teams performance which sees them move into third spot on the table.
They are on equal log points than the Waratahs but with the better points difference at the moment the Tahs has taken up the number two spot after this weekend matches.
This was also the Rebels first loss since the opening round which sees them slipping to forth on the standings.
The Rebels had their opportunities in the match but some poor play and brilliant defence by the Reds on their line made the difference in this one.
The Reds had a handy lead of 14-3 going into the break with tries from Jordan Petaia and Brandon Paenga-Amosa.
I was one of those games where their will be more questions asked by the Rebels on why they could not convert their opportunities into points.
The Reds finish the game with O’Connor having the last say with a brilliant worked try.
Scorers:
Reds: Tries: Jordan Petaia, Brandon Paenga-Amosa, Hamis Stewart. Conversions: James O’Connor (2).
Rebels: Penalty: Matt To’omua.
