The Lions had a better second 20 minutes in that first half but was still not able to get points on the board with the Stormers defence keep ing them out.

The teams went into the break with the Stormers leading 23-0.

The start of the second half saw the same as the end of the first with both teams getting in the right areas but couldn’t convert it into points.

It was the Stormers that got the first points of the second half when Bongi was at the end of the perfect maul to extend the lead to 31-0.

The Stormers extended their lead with another penalty from Abner van Reenen. As if he did not enough he also slotted a drop goal over minutes later.

The Stormers replied immediately with a try by Nel after the Lions tried to run the ball out of their own twenty two just to mess it up.

The Stormers Van Reenen then got shown a yellow card when he deliberate knock the ball over the dead-ball line which also resulted in the Lions second try when the referee awarded a penalty try.

Jantjies did immediately answered back with what looked like his hat-trick try but after the TMO looked at it, it showed that he had a foot on the line.

That was about the final act of the match with the Stormers taking the win 44-12.
