The Barbarians have announced today that they will strengthen their squad with some Springbok World Cup Champions.

Lukhanyo Am, Makazole Mapimpi, Tendai “Beast” Mtawarira and Herschel Jantjies will be in action for the Barbarians when they take on Fiji for the Killik Cup at Twickenham, Brazil in Sao Paolo and Wales at the Principality Stadium as part of the invitational side’s November international tour.

Eddie Jones will coached the side for the opening match against Fiji.

Jantjies, Am and Mapimpi will make their debut appearance for the Barbarians while Beast will make his third appearance.


While Jantjies, Am and Mapimpi will all be making their Barbarians debuts after appearing in all six of South Africa’s matches at the Rugby World Cup, South Africa’s most capped prop and third most capped player ever Mtawarira will be making appearance number three for the invitational side.

Fellow Springbok Morne Steyn will also join the squad.

The Barbarians will start their November tour against Fiji for the Killik Cup on Saturday 16 November. A bumper crowd of over 50,000 is expected and tickets are still available from only £20* for Adults and £15* for Kids.
