The whole squad got a good workout according to DHL Stormers Page

It was an extended 28-man squad that was tested in four 20-minute games in front of a vibrant and enthusiastic crowd on Saturday.

They came up against Maties, UCT, CPUT and DHL WP XV made up from local club players and all these teams put up a great fight on the day.

The first outing for the Stormers was against CPUT and they won that game 10-5. Sihle Niezula got on the scoreboard early with Erasmus at the end of a maul for the second try.

CPUT scored their try agains the run of play and were good on the counter-attack.

Against the DHL WP XV we saw five tries in the 20 minuets with the local club players giving everything to beat the Stormers 15-10.

Tries came form scrumhalf Deon Carstens and centre Cornel Smit for the Stormers and for the DHL WP XV Sinethemba Mapaqa from Hamiltons, Jayden Hanlso from Tygerberg and No.8 Joel Paarwater from UWC all crossing got over the line.

It was another close one against UCT which the Stormers manage to win 5-0.
